Subtraction
To subtract, use backward counting method.
To solve 15 – 8.

Start from 15 and jump 8 points backward you will land on 7.
Hence, 15 – 8 = 7
Stroke Method
Draw 15 strokes to show 15 and then cut 8 of them.

Hence, 15 – 8 = 7
Vertical Method
To subtract 4 from 15 by vertical method, we write
subtrahend (i.e. 4) with a minus sign below the minued (i.e.
15), such that ones of subtrahend comes should below ones of
minuend. In the same way tens, should comes below tens.
Then we subtract ones from ones and tens from tens.
