Put this number in table written below :

column.
It is read as thirty-seven thousand five hundred and forty-two.
Note
In order to write by numbers, we separate the periods by putting comma (,). Here 37542 is written as 37,542.
Forming 6-digit Numbers
We know, 99999 is the greatest 5-digit number. If we add 1 to it, we get
99999 + 1 = 100000
It is read as one lakh.
Example : Let’s take an example to see how to write a 6-digit number.
Take a number 297385.
